To protect every employee for possible damages due to smoking, people are no longer allowed to smoke in all public places. Even in Tobacco shops people are no longer allowed to taste and smoke their cigarettes or cigars.

December 2006: Delay of Zippo Blu!
The Worldwide introduction of the new Zippo Jet Flame lighter has been postponed. According to Zippo the lighters will be available around September 2007.


September 2006: The Worldwide introduction of Zippo Blu!

Zippo introduces the first Jet-flame gas lighter with a flint ignition. De Zippo Blu is completely manufactured in the US and is guaranteed for life (30 years). This unique collection will be launched in Germany, Belgium and The Netherlands.


August 2006: Ronson Premier Varaflame celebrates its 50 year anniversary


In 2007 it will be 50 years ago that the most famous (Ronson) lighter was launched to the public. It was the first gas lighter with a adjustable flame.
To celebrate this anniversary, Ronson will launch a limited Edition Gold plated Varaflame. It comes in a black (lacquer) box with a certificate.

June 2006: New European Child safety law on lighters..
To protect the European children, Brussels have announced new restrictions on the import of lighters into Europe. All lighters must have a Child Resistant (CR) feature on the lighter so (very) young children will not be able to ignite this lighter. Only all luxury lighters (that are guaranteed for 2 years) don’t need such a CR.

- March 11 2007: Import restriction. No lighters without CR are allowed into Europe.

- March 11 2008: Sales restriction. No lighters without CR can be sold in the European shops.
